Ambassador Liberata Mulamula
Ambassador Liberata Mulamula is a former Tanzania diplomat currently an Associate Director of the Institute for African Studies and Visiting Scholar at the Elliott School of International Affairs. She teaches a ‘Women and leadership in Africa’ course at both Undergraduate and Graduate levels, as well as ‘Multilateral and Conference Diplomacy’ for graduate students. She served as Tanzania Ambassador to the United States and Mexico and was also the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Senior Diplomatic Advisor to former Tanzanian president, H.E. Jakaya Kikwete before her retirement. In addition, she was the first Executive Secretary of the Regional Inter-Governmental Organization for Peace, Stability, and Development in the Great Lakes Region of Africa and is a published scholar. She is the Member of the Africa Women Leaders Network and UN Secretary General’s Advisory Group on Peacebuilding Fund. She holds a master’s in Government and Politics from St. John’s University, New York.
