Elizabeth Ampairwe, Gender and rights activist, civil society project management consultant and advisor
Elizabeth Ampairwe is a Gender and rights activist, civil society project management consultant and advisor with 14 years of professional experience. She is currently the Program Manager, Women and Leadership at Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE), a women rights’ organisation that spearheads the advancement of Gender Equality in the SDGs. One of her major roles is coordinating the work of the Uganda Gender Consortium on SDGs. The consortium monitors SDG implementation and develops annual shadow reports that feed into the Voluntary National Reporting (VNR) process. Elizabeth has presented papers on Gender and SDGs at national, regional and global Fora including the High-Level Political Forum on SDGs in New York in 2018 and 2019. She is very passionate about advancing the women’s agenda in the SDGs to ensure that, “No woman is left behind” by 2030.
