Ahunna Eziakonwa, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of UNDP's Regional Bureau for Africa

Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa is currently Assistant Secretary-General and Director of UNDP's Regional Bureau for Africa. She is a leading development and humanitarian specialist with over 20 years of experience at the United Nations. Ms. Eziakonwa also served as Chief of the Africa Section for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, where she managed over 15 country operations. Before joining the United Nations, she held various senior positions in African civil society organizations. She has a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, focusing on Economic and Political Development in Africa. She is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Programme, where she got specialized training in cutting-edge development thinking. Her core training is in Education, with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Benin City, Nigeria.
